Treatment
The Oxford County Strategy is invested in the development and expansion of local treatment programs and services available, with a goal of minimizing barriers such as waitlists, problems with access, and financial and transportation limitations. Furthermore, navigating the mental health and addiction system can be complex and challenging. Therefore, the Oxford County Strategy is committed to the enhancement of clear treatment pathways, as well as strengthening the overall services provided.
To provide the most appropriate level of care, treatment programs and services within Oxford County offer triage and screening, standardized assessment (which guides treatment planning), referrals to local services, and assistance in applying to the provincial residential treatment system.
Goal
To help individuals with problematic substance use make decisions about their personal health, support recovery as defined by the individual, and move towards decreasing and/or eliminating problematic substance use by increasing access to addiction treatment.
